Fall…..it’s when we feel those cozy fall vibes that make us want to curl up by a fireplace with a good book. Beyond that, October has great significance.
October is when the butterflies begin their migration from Canada back to Mexico. As they migrate south this is a season for reflection. A season for us to uncover our vision. What we envision for ourselves moving forward.
I don’t know about you but I find this time of year invigorating!
It is a wonderful time to pause and reflect. I am learning more about the meaning behind our new and full moons. From this, I have discovered new perspectives that allow me to go deeper.
This month we are celebrating the Hunter Moon. The Hunter Moon is a powerful moment in time for us to hunt for our vision.
This moon represents a time for reflection. An invitation for the darker season of the year. A time to reflect on lessons learned as we build our vision going forward.
It is also a wonderful time of the year for meditation. For doing deep internal work and journaling.
And of course it’s a great time to prepare for winter. Before the industrial revolution our ancestors had to prepare for their survival.
For us, this season is an invitation to find some cozy DIY projects to help you prepare for fall. You might try knitting, canning, or bake some of your favorite recipes.
It’s also a great time to connect with our ancestors. Consider what traditions you want to carry forward. Reflect on the traditions you have. What is significant about them to you?
To help you build your vision, here are some questions for you to meditate and reflect on.
Questions for Reflection & Journaling:
- What significance does fall hold for you?
- How do you feel as we head into the darker season of the year?
- What are some lessons you learned the past 3-6 months?
- What are you being asked to let go of?
- As you reflect on your ancestors and traditions, what new lessons did you discover?
- Heading into fall, what are you being asked on your journey or migration?
- Are you spending enough time in meditation? If not, what’s holding you back?
- What are you resisting today that you need to let go of?
- What is your vision for your life moving into this new season?
Each of these questions is significant. I urge you to take the time for deep reflection. Go within your cocoon. Prepare yourself for your migration. For your own transformation.
As you journey forward, what are you letting go of? How can you make your journey more present? More joyful?
And most importantly, what is your vision moving forward?
I Want to Hear From You
None of this work is meant to be done in complete isolation. As humans we are built for connection and community.
While it’s important to pause and go within, it’s also important to share.
What is your vision today? What lessons or reflections of value came up for you?
